Training and Job Opportunities
The SC Technical College System has established six Energy Efficiency Training Centers (EETC). These training centers are located at the following technical colleges: York Tech, Piedmont Tech, Midlands Tech, Horry Georgetown Tech, Trident Tech and Technical College of the Low Country. The EETCs are designed to respond to South Carolina’s growing unemployment and economic crisis by increasing job growth and job retention for South Carolinians through delivery of short-term energy audit, energy efficiency and weatherization training programs.
The Technical College System has also established Solar Training Centers at York Tech, Trident Tech, Greenville Tech and Aiken Tech. Geothermal Training centers have been established at Technical College of the Lowcountry and Greenville Tech. A Wind Training center has been established at Orangeburg Calhoun Tech.
