Vehicle Data

The data in this section represents vehicles by fuel type. It includes commercial and fleet data for gross vehicle weights (GVW) 1-3. The data is from the Department of Energy’s R. L. Polk & Co. data and is for calendar year 2016. The US Department of Energy is no longer receiving this data. Therefore, this is the latest data we have available.
 
Table Terms:
CNG – Compressed Natural Gas
Convertible – Vehicles that are prep-ready for a conversion to an alternative fuel such as CNG or LPG.
EV – Electric Vehicle
FFV – Flexible Fuel Vehicle – Usually E-85/Gasoline
HEV – Hybrid Electric Vehicle
PHEV – Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle
LPG – Liquefied Petroleum Gas
Unknown – Vehicles in this category have VIN numbers that do not align with the decoder. The system was unable to translate the type of fuel.
