The South Carolina population is continuing to increase with the influx of people into the state. See population projections in the chart below. 2018 population estimates from the US Census Bureau show a 10 percent population increase compared to 2010. South Carolina's population is expected to grow 11 percent by 2030 compared to 2010. The 2030 population estimate is based on data from the SC Revenue and Fiscal Affairs Office. However, if the population growth trend continues as it has in the past few years, we will surpass the 2030 projection in 2020.
