Energy Office Lesson Plans

The Energy Office has developed ten free energy lesson plans specifically for South Carolina teachers to use. These lessons align with the 2021 South Carolina Science Standards and indicate the grade level covered by the standard. Lesson topics include renewables, energy conservation, green buildings, energy sources, and transportation.

Energy Lesson Plan Toolkits

In addition to the Energy Lesson Plan, the South Carolina Energy Office provides energy lesson plan toolkits to South Carolina educators.

The toolkit items include:

  • Infrared Thermometer
  • Solar Beads
  • Squishy Circuits Kit
  • Sunscreen
  • Energy Stick

Funding from the US Department of Energy’s State Energy Program allows the Energy Office to provide toolkit items to South Carolina K-12 educators. The lesson plans and toolkit are designed to help educators teach energy topics in the classroom.
