COLUMBIA, SC — The State Energy Office within the SC Office of Regulatory Staff (State Energy Office) is pleased to announce the awarded entities of the SC Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (SC EECBG) competitive program.
The SC EECBG program is funded through the US Department of Energy’s (US DOE) EECBG program. Through the state program, the State Energy Office selected several local governmental projects that improve energy efficiency, cut carbon emissions, and reduce energy use in South Carolina. “We are excited to support energy and cost savings in our local South Carolina communities,” said Sara Bazemore, Director of the State Energy Office.
The projects were selected after a rigorous review process based on criteria such as energy savings, payback period, and useful life. According to Bazemore, “[t]he State Energy Office awarded over $1,300,000 to 16 entities through 19 projects."
“The ability to award these grants and observe firsthand the economic and efficiency gains is a win for these entities and the communities in which they operate,” noted Acting Executive Director, Andrew Bateman. Projects must be completed by May 2026.
