SC Energy Office Announces First Statewide Student Poster Contest
South Carolina K-12 students are invited to look “Beyond the Outlet” in an energy education poster contest
COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina Energy Office (SCEO) is hosting its first statewide energy education poster contest for K-12 students.
The contest theme, Energy: Beyond the Outlet, encourages students to explore where energy comes from and how it is generated, distributed, consumed, and conserved in South Carolina. Through their poster entries, students are challenged to apply critical thinking and creatively express the theme, strengthening energy literacy skills that will serve them for years to come.
Students in grades K-12 enrolled in a public, private, tribal, or home school in South Carolina are eligible to participate. Entries will be evaluated for accuracy, visual impact, theme interpretation, originality, and aesthetics. Winners from each of the following grade groups will be selected: K-2nd, 3rd-5th, 6th-8th, and 9th-12th. Each category winner will receive a prize designed to encourage continued exploration of energy concepts.
Entries must be received by 5:00 PM ET on November 20, 2026. For full contest guidelines and submission details, visit the SCEO website.
